This fixed my issue couldn't get over 4475 mhz on my 7800x3d and NH-D15 cooler. Now I'm hitting max boost 5050 huge difference.
7800x3d on a N7 b650e. Works good, boosted my cpu from 4.8 to 5.05. Thanks for the vid!
Thank you for this video. I own a Asrock B650E PG Riptide wifi. I set PBO to advanced and then motherboard like you and the curve optimizer to -20. My Cinebench 23 score went from 17700 to 18000. Today i will try -30. I have the 7800x3d and a Peerless Assassin 120 cooler. Temps went from 85°C to 79°C. So more performance with lower temps. Awesome!
Thank you. Great video
I used PBO + curve optimizer to -25 and temp limit at 80 and my CPU seems to be using more than 1.3v. Is that healthy for my 7900x? What should I do? I’m looking to drop the temps a bit (was previously at 80c+ during gaming sessions) to 70-80c. Okay with losing a bit of performance.
Nice...thanks
La vidéo est simple, bien expliquée! Good Job!!
It's a little *too* simple. He only covered the basics, stuff Ryzen owners already know! No mention of enabling Memory Context Restore to reduce your POST times from 30 seconds to 3, for example. Or turning on ErP to save electricity and prevent the RGB from staying on. Or enabling SVM mode to turn on Virtualization. Or how to set your fan curves for ultimate cooling and efficiency. Really disappointing video.
Ive been a intel guy for like 30 years lol now im runningn a ryzrn 9 7950x3d, with gskill trident Z5 neo ddr5 6000 ram, and a gigabyte Aorus X670E master motherboard. Other then turning on expo inhave no idea what i should change . Ive never used a 3d chip before and i feel like i ahoukd be getting better benchmark results then i am. Any ideass on what settings i shoukd enable etc? I also have one gen 5 pcie m.2 drive, 2 gen 4 samsunf 980 m.2s , 4 samsung regular ssds and a 18tb western digital drive i shucked. Its in a corsair 6000D airflow case with a Nzxt kraken 360mm AIO and a rtx4070ti eagle gpu (im waiting for gen5 gpus to come out. Any help id appreciate it. Thank you.
Great video! I've got the exact same motherboard and CPU, so I'll follow these tips and see how it goes. Cheers!
Me too my motherboard comes in Wednesday can’t wait
Are y’all getting 5.2ghz though? Cuz I am not
Merci.. great video
Whats better for lowering temps? Eco mode values set in bios or Curve optimizer. And can/should you do both? Right now im just running eco mode values for PPT, Etc. and i got a huge thermals reduction. Ive also read in gaming and performance tests eco mode really isnt losing out much at all to regular operation mode of the cpu
Im running these following setting expo 6000, -30 curve optimizer, 97 ppt(162), 108 edc(180), 72 tdc(120), 84 tjmax, -0.025v core voltage. I've decent thermal in cb r23 hitting 18100 - 18500 score. When benchmarking it can boost to 5050 mhz but when throttling at 84 celcius it will stay at constant 4875mhz.
Weird thing is, when gaming my cpu will boost itself to 5300mhz and throttle really quick. I'm looking for a way to cap it at 5000mhz boost clock while gaming. Maybe someone can help me with this?
Disable "core performance boost" or your bios equiv.
I found that just using the PBO presets is all you need to do really.
When i used -30 on all cores it just performed weirdly.
When i chose pbo limit 85c -40mv my pc was more stable, temps were better controlled and i had better performance overall.
Hey I tried the -30 and now it won’t post should I just pull the battery on the motherboard to reset the bios? I have a ASROCK x670e steel legend with 7950x3d
I have a MPG X670E with a Ryzen 7800X3D, what settings do you suggest?
The DRAM PERFORMANCE MODE option is not available on TUF Gaming X670E-PLUS
What would be the best settings to have a Tuf Gaming B650 WiFi with a AMD 7800x3D and Teamgroup 32gig ram 6000hrz?
Hi
I'm new to overclockung
What I don't get is after I do all this the motherboard decides how high the cpu can go?
I have this same motherboard, can you answer me? What do I have to do so that the frequencies of my 7800x3d processor do not drop and rise from 4.8 to 3.2 ghz? since the frequencies are not fixed and I would like to have them fixed.
Should I do this in the initial boot, or load windows, download all chipset drivers, and change the settings after?
What’s the difference from my ai tweaker pbo and advanced Amd pbo ?
what about decreasing vsoc? which un my case helped to decrease idle wattage from 21w to 16w. Idle temp on air cooler now 42C.
any update after x3d issue ?
@Kephren do you know how to go over -40mV? I have Taichi Carrara motherboard with such a good vrm so i would like to use it. At 40 i get 18365pts in cinebenchr23 and thats all.
I have 6000mhz rated Gskill neo and cannot use any kind of expo profile with my 7800X3D
I tried loading expo and reducing the frequency all the way down to 5400mhz and still no post.
Tried two different MOBO’s now and same story, at least with my new Gigabyte x670 elite AX I can save the bios settings and it will post which wasn’t the case with the Asrock.
Guess I’m just unlucky with the silicone lottery.
I’m considering sending the RAM back
Hi, do you know how to make lower CPU temperature?
Allô dun autre Franch Canadian Québécois du Qc lol😁. Je viens de changer pour un ryzen 7800x3d avec un gigabyte aarus elite ax. Ton video ma bien été utile👌
Tant mieux :) !
Did you have more tips on this board?!
Thereis performance preaet in asrock mobo name pbo, with tjmax 85, and curve -30
Is it the same ?
thanks for the video, i just did exact same thing as you did but im still getting max boost of 5050, 7800x3d+msi x670
same.. i dont know what hes doing to get 5200
Curve optimizer "all core" setting might be better if you don't want to mess around as much. However setting it to a "per core" (or whatever the terminology is) is going to give you the best results.
Not all the cores will be able to handle the same amount of voltage reduction. Setting it to "all core" limits you to the core that has the lowest tolerance to reduced voltage. It's like a chain that's only as strong as it's weakest link.
Per core allows you to maximize the voltage reduction for each core and maximize the thermal improvement. It is a bit more work tho.
Depends, if you can do -60 all core then theres no benefit setting it for each one :)
@@AdroSlice Correct, but not everybody can do that.
this overcomplicates things and takes a very long time to test... if you can get it to -25 or -20 just forget about it and abuse the hell out of it till you make an upgrade i doubt it will die before that time comes, they should last 10 years at stock settings.
@@Andrei_M_Af Not as complicated as you might think. WHEA logs in event viewer will tell you the specific thread that an error occurred on. This leads you back to the core that needs its voltage bumped up.
Ain't nobody got time to just squish lil bit left over juice😂
I do this and my sleep mode no longer wakes up. Boots into the BIOs crashing and needed to use default settings.
Man these are my rig
msi Pro b650-S M/B
G.SKILL Trident Z5 Neo 32gb 6400mhz 32CL
Ryzen 7800x3d
Sapphire nitro+ rx 7900 xtx
My question is what settings should i put in the msi bios i really need your help.
Thank you in advance
For me these settings reset when i enter bios again after testing. MSI X670 PRO
How would you recommed to set my aio 240, I have b650 livemixer and ryzen 7600 and also i wonder about the fans in the case.
i would recommend you to use -18 CO with voltage set to 1.28 on CPU
Cheers.
What about Ryzen 7 , 5700G ? Asrock b550 tweaking
I have the 7950X3D and I can't do -10 either.. not sure why
Recently bought a Ryzen 7 7700x with an ASrock PG Riptide B650E, and Gskill DDR5 6000 memory. Plagued with spontaneous reboots in the middle of gaming, but specifically only with 2 games none others. So I decided to try the recommended bios changes from this video, and after doing them.... they also changed my SOC from 1.250 up to 1.300.. which is odd.... since AMD strongly recommends it not exceed 1.250 and instructed motherboard manufactures to default to that.... so is 1.300 safe? Why is this video recommending changes that AMD warns against?
1.3v on soc is also safe but 1.25v is better. Did you install the latest bios?
The fact that infinity fabric is not really 1:1 probably is why I’m having issues
What is a Mudder Board?
Hi everyone, I have a 7800x3d processor. Under the premise of keeping CPU's stability, I aim to reduce the CPU temperature without sacrificing too much performance. What settings should I adjust in the BIOS to achieve this? Thank you.
Pbo+ curve optimizer. Read how to do it.
Thank you for providing the answer. Please refrain from using the order form for direct communication. if you are educated, you should agree that it's essential to maintain respect in your communication with others.@@vincentpatrick886
What are your temps and cooling solution now? If you're marginally cooled doing a PBO offset is only going to impact it a few degrees. You would still want to upgrade your cooling situation. Different case with better cooling characteristics, different/more fans and a good quality heatsink like the Thermalright Peerless Assassin or Phantom Spirit should have you plenty cool. These chips just don't run hot unless you're running it in a hot room, in which case nothing is going to help that.
Just got 7800x3d, MSI B650 Edge, and 2x32gb of Tforce ram (6000mhz). Can not get it to xmp or go past 4600mhz. Any suggestions?
Might have to get a better RAM kit. But first make sure you update your bios. Maybe your motherboard has an updated bios that will let you run @6000
Hi, I have 7800x3d with Asus x670 e gaming. I have newest BIOS 1416. My boost clock Is ONLY 5050mhz with this settings, not 5200 how you say. I Did everything like you, could you help me please? Magnitude I Have 20, core perfomance boost is auto. When I disable core perfomance boost , the maximum CPU speed Is locked on 4200mhz. I really don't understand IT. Thanks for your answer.
That CPU only boosts to 5050 PBO does not go over stock boost. If you want to go over stock you have to manually clock it.
I love French Canadian accents 😁
Had mixed results with my 7800X3D on stock settings with a gigabyte B650 aorus elite ax. Mid to low 17000 scores in cinebench multicore. Did exactly what you did in this video and it's up to around 18,000 now. I'm only running -15 and it seems to be stable, but from what you said it seems realistic to try for -20 or even -30, so I'll probably try that later today. What kind of clocks are you getting for multi-core loads? Great video, thanks.
I’m stable at -35 with my 7800x3d. Silicon lottery? Maybe!!
@@martind.141 Sounds excellent. Mine is running stable at -30, haven't tried pushing it any further.
I’m running sable at -40 but I’m not getting 5.2ghz like he is l? How about y’all?
@@Mexi99 I think 5.2ghz is on the very high end of what this chip is capable of for single core. A lot more likely you hit 5050 or 5.1 at most.
@@rollerr yea I’m just curious how he’s hitting that number. I have the same specs as him lol
im at -30 and all im getting is 5050 how are you ghetting 5200?!Q
hello just saying USE UCLK=MCLK over UCLK=MCLK/2 its good bit faster 1:00 i see its set
Thanks for the video. I just need some help please. I just bought and put together ryzen 7 7800x3d and Gigabyte b650m ds3h with memory capable of doing 6000 mhz. I updated to the latest f6c bios from gigabyte right away when i put together everything. I have a 1000watt corsair power supply.
My issue is it seems like the cpu is being limited to only 1.1 volts from what I see using bios info and the hwinfo64. I have not touched the ram with xmp profile yet because i don't know why the cpu voltage is only limited to 1.1 volts.
In cinebench max clocks I get are 4.8ghz on all cores and it stays consistent. However, when gaming the core clocks seem to fluctuate with some cores sometimes going down to 3-4ghz range.
Do you guys know what the problem is? I don't know what settings are making the processor do that. Again, my bios settings are still completely stock as of now. Thanks for any help with this.
Stock Bios info reads:
CPU Vcore: 0.882v
CPU Vcore misc: 1.161v
CPU Vcore SOC: 1.053v
CPU frequency ≈4221 mhz
BCLK ≈100 mhz
Memory frequency ≈ 4800mhz
Change your throttle type to motherboard.
@@wtfskilzwhat that Mean
Hello i have same board And cpu did you solve the problem And running without issues?
oof 1:12 shows your memory at 1:2. why are you doing that. It should be uclk=mclk
Finally someone with the same MOBO. I am running 7900x full stable at -32.
Unfortunately, I can't get anything from using the "boost clock override" - it doesn't do anything really and it actually decreases all core performance. I gain tops 30 mhz with +200 setting.
All core - 32 seem to be the best option.
Are you using the boost clock override and negative curve optimizer at the same time?
Be careful! Switching to Competitive from Agesa on ram setting also switches SOC Overclock voltage to 1.3 (it did it on mine qns it turned red). 1.3v is apparently too high and it risks burning 7800X3D cpus (and motherboard)...it stops being red at 1.29 if manually changed, default is 1.25.
Get good Hynix based memory and manually set your timings. EXPO /XMP is like 69ns latency....manual will be 60 or potentially even less.
How can 1.3v be to high when it climbs to that on any mobo?
@@Tarrgetthis You're not looking at actual voltage being used. Also AMPS say hello. If you don't understand what you're looking at I recommend not worrying about it.
OMG i only switched to competitive from agesa first, save and exit and now my screen is black, 2 red dots on mobo. And when i turned off pc and try again to enter in bios its stuck on that black screen…..im so mad right now idk what to do
@@Ficho90punk try turning off pc, disconnect power, removing cmos battery, and push down power button holding it for a few seconds to reset cmos memory. If that doesnt work, Also try removing ram stick and restart PC. I had a similar problem and solved it

Then worry about configuring the bios.
Then fresh install of windows ❤

Can I Use With the 7800x3d a dominator ddr5 6000mhz with XMP ?
I'd recommend you don't. I recently built a PC with those exact specs and turning on EXPO or DOCP with and XMP rated stuck caused blue screens and crashing. Save yourself the hassle of having to adjust the timings manually, and just get an EXPO rated kit.
Everyone is getting G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO Series 6000mhz 30cas for that cpu
I can't get much more then 5.0 on my 7800x3d and the highest temp I have ever seen is 73c. It's a lapped cpu with a custom loop.
My pc won’t turn on now
I could get more then 4200 all cores are fixed to that Iam -20 now asus tuf gaming x670e-plus
Do you still recommend this in wake of the burning X3D CPUs?
undervolting CPU via curve optimiser cannot hurt , if anything can help , got 7900x3d and running -10 all cores for few weeks now. Super stable. I will wait for new bios and then maybe try -20
@@borgirlol what is your soc voltage at? I set mine to a static 1.1v in both Tweaker and Overclocking sections of my bios. Weird there's two places.
Just look while testing at soc voltage if its normal then there is nothing to worry about
What a great tutorial I don't think i've ever seen anybody show you how to exactly do this
I h8t3 this UEFI BIOS more than I h8t3 life itself.
Just about every change you do fails and requires a CMOS reset.
I've never pressed a CMOS battery reset button more ever in my life.
The only BIOS I've ever h8t3d more was the EFI BIOS on Itanium 2.
I can't even get WIndows to install on this POS BIOS and the BIOS screen is the only thing I can do on this comptuer.
Hi, thank you for your video!
I just purchased a 7800X3D with a ´Gigabyte B650 non E chipsset.
Would you recomend getting another and more expensive motherboard or stay with this to reach the same goals for the cpu with the lower temps and higher clocks? or is it enough?
Primarily i went with this motherboard due to the fact that i an not in the forseable futire looking to need pice5.0.
Thanks!
I think that the x3d parts are kinda locked down so they dont need expensive MBs. Unless you wanna go up to like a 7950x or something in the future you should be good.
I cannot even do -10 on my 7950x3d it's unstable
7900x3d can sometimes do -5 but usually has trouble
Using 7950x3D - and can use -30
U just got really unlucky then
Yikes im sorry
Same here have a 7900x3d and can't even do -10
Mon tabarouette
My msi board is pretty useless too
I can’t even login to windows after this. People don to this it can damage your system
No it doesnt. Literally lower the pbo cuz your bin is bad.
What part? Nothing here will dmg your cpu even if tested under load bozo
